History
Ebenezer Hospital was founded in 1964 by Dr. A. I. John, as a clinic with a two-doctor team and supported by a 10-bed inpatient facility on a rented premises, situated toward the southern tip of Kayamkulam town. Its beginning was in general practice, catering to all types of ailments without any specialities. It started with the following support services – X-ray, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Nursing, Rooms & Wards, Store, Outpatient Care, Operation Theatre and Casualty.
In 1970, the hospital purchased its current premises in the heart of Kayamkulam town and constructed its own facility. Situated between the Private & KSRTC bus stands, access to the hospital was easier,

Over time, the facility was modernised, with new departments added and expanded to the present 73 bedded hospital. From being a general practitioner’s clinic, specialisations in General Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, ENT, Cardiology, Neurology, Nephrology, Urology and Gastroenterology were added.

Ebenezer Hospital is a privately owned primary and secondary care hospital, providing excellent modern medical treatment, situated at the center of Kayamkulam town at the southern tip of Alappuzha district in Kerala, India.
The hospital exists to bring healing through the love of Christ, recognizing that it is God who heals, while its staff and facilities are a means for bringing healing.
